Alondra de la Parra

Conductor

Through her captivating performances and her commitment to Latin American composers, Alondra de la Parra has attracted a great deal of attention and counts renowned orchestras such as the Orchestre de Paris, the London Philharmonic Orchestra and the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich among her previous stations as a guest conductor. At 23, she founded an orchestra during her studies at the Manhattan School of Music intending to present young artists and composers from America. Building on this foundation, she has steadily expanded her artistic profile and is now an integral part of the international opera and concert scene. Her most recent highlights include the acclaimed world premiere of Joby Talbot's ballet »Like Water for Chocolate« (Choreography by Christopher Wheeldon), a cycle of all Brahms symphonies with the Munich Symphony Orchestra and, last but not least, the third edition of her festival Paax GNP. In the 2023/24 season, Alondra de la Parra will be conducting »Turandot« in Barcelona at the Gran Teatre del Liceu and will be in Salzburg for the season opening of the Mozarteum Foundation.
